Process

How a project actually runs

Six stages. Each one has a duration and something you receive at the end of it. Nothing runs open-ended, and nothing is invoiced that was not quoted first.

How it works

You always know what happens next.

Every stage has a duration and something you receive at the end of it. Nothing runs open-ended.

  1. 0130 minutes

    Strategy call

We ask what you sell, who buys it, and what the site is failing to do. You leave with at least one useful observation whether or not you hire us.

You receive: A clear view of whether we are the right fit

  2. 023-5 days

    Diagnosis and proposal

We audit your current site, search visibility and competitors, then write a proposal with a fixed scope, a fixed price and dated milestones.

You receive: Written proposal and audit findings

  3. 03Week 1

    Strategy and architecture

Positioning, messaging, sitemap and page-by-page wireframes. Signed off before design begins, so nothing is built twice.

You receive: Approved messaging and wireframes

  4. 04Weeks 2-3

    Design

Designed at real breakpoints with your actual content, never placeholder text. Reviewed on a live staging URL you can open on your own phone.

You receive: Approved design across key templates

  5. 05Weeks 3-5

    Build and QA

Built, then tested on real devices for speed, accessibility and search readiness. You review weekly on staging.

You receive: Tested site on a staging URL

  6. 06Week 6 onward

    Launch and optimise

We deploy, verify every tracking event fires, then watch the data for 30 days and fix whatever underperforms.

You receive: Live site, verified tracking, 30-day support

Working together

The rules we run projects by.

Answered here so you do not have to ask, and so you can hold us to them.

Who will I actually be talking to?

The people you meet on the first call. We are a small senior team by design, so there is no account manager relaying messages to someone you never speak to.

How often will I hear from you?

Weekly, on a fixed day, whether or not there is news. Every project runs on a shared board you can open at any hour, so you never have to ask where things stand.

What if we want to change something mid-project?

Small changes are absorbed. Anything that materially moves the scope gets quoted before it is started, so the price never changes without your say-so.

What do you need from us?

A single decision-maker, access to your content and analytics, and a review turned around within three working days at each stage. Late feedback is the most common reason projects slip.

What happens if we are not happy?

You tell us at the weekly review and we fix it inside the fixed price. Design work includes two full rounds of revision at each stage, which is almost always more than anyone uses.

Who owns the work?

You do, from day one. Code, design files, domains, hosting and analytics accounts are all in your name. If you ever leave, nothing breaks and nothing is withheld.

Questions

Everything you were going to ask

Still unsure about something? Ask us directly - you will get a straight answer, not a sales pitch.

  • It depends on scope - a brochure site for a local business and a full ecommerce build are very different pieces of work. We quote a fixed price up front once we understand what you need, so there are no surprise invoices later. The first conversation and the quote are free.

  • Most projects run from a few weeks to a couple of months depending on size, how many pages are involved and how quickly content and feedback come back. You get a timeline with your quote, and a staging link so you can see progress rather than waiting in the dark.

  • Yes - that is the point of doing both in one place. Site structure, page speed and content are planned together from the start, which is far more effective than building a site and trying to optimise it afterwards.

  • Yes. We set the site up so you can update text, images, products and posts without needing a developer. We will walk you through it at handover, and we are on the end of the phone if you get stuck.

  • You can take the site and run it yourself, or put it on one of our care plans for managed hosting, backups, updates and ongoing SEO. There is no lock-in either way - the site is yours.

  • We work with businesses across the UK. Most of the process happens over calls and shared links, so where you are based makes very little difference to how the project runs.
